Virgin Galactic, the space travel industry organization established by Richard Branson, declared plans to send off business space travel industry trips in 2024. The organization uncovered that it has finished the primary period of testing and is presently moving into the second period of its flight test program.
The announcement comes after Virgin Galactic successfully completed a manned space flight in July 2021. The flight marked the company’s fourth crewed space flight and the first with a full crew of six. The company plans to conduct two more test flights before launching a commercial service in 2024.
Virgin Galactic’s Chief Michael Colglazier said in a proclamation, “We are satisfied to have gained critical headway in our experimental drill program, and we are certain about our capacity to send off business administration in 2024. We accept that space in the travel industry can possibly open up another period of room investigation and we are eager to be at the front line of this industry.”
The company plans to offer customers the opportunity to experience weightlessness and see the curvature of the Earth from space. The flights will last approximately 90 minutes, with several minutes of weightlessness.
Virgin Galactic is not the only company planning to offer space tourism flights. Blue Origin, the space company founded by Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos, also plans to offer commercial space tourism flights. Blue Origin completed its first crewed space flight in July 2021, just days before Virgin Galactic’s flight.
While both companies are offering similar services, they differ in their approach. Virgin Galactic uses a space plane that is launched from a carrier aircraft, while Blue Origin uses a rocket that launches vertically.
All in all, Virgin Galactic’s declaration of plans for business space the travel industry dispatches in 2024 imprints a huge step in the right direction for the improvement of the space travel industry. With fruitful monitored space trips added to its repertoire, the organization is ready to make space in the travel industry a reality for those able to follow through on the significant expense tag. As additional organizations enter the market, it will be intriguing to perceive how the space the travel industry develops and what new encounters will be proposed to clients.
